Jermaine,
better known by his artist name Funktional J.
He is a Eindhoven-based producer inspired by Funk, Soul and Hip-hop.
When J was growing up, he always was surrounded by music of the 80’s and 90’s.
He used to listen old cassettes and vinyls from his fathers music collection.
At an early age, J began to create melodic instrumental tracks in his dad’s home studio.
His production style is characterized by heavy drums, fat base, unrecognisable samples and a mixture of live and sequenced instrumentation.
In his homestudio, he uses a MPC1000, Microkorg, and multiple soft synths and that makes his sound absolutely funkified!
